Special Analysis of Stainless Steel Tubes

If, for example, end-use conditions are too restrictive to permit the use of Type 303 instead of Type 304, the specifier can request Type 304 in a special analysis that has somewhat better machining qualities but with very little difference in corrosion resistance. The producer can adjust the alloy content of Type 304 (or any stainless steel type) slightly to enhance machinability, but remain within the standard composition range. Obviously, this requires coordination with a producing mill.
